Les recherches françaises sur le sujet sont encore rares.
 

Depuis 2008, nous menons un travail d'action recherche avec l'université de Toulouse, dans le cadre du diplôme des hautes études en pratiques sociales/Responsable d'études et de projet social.

 

Un mémoire d'action-recherche sera soutenu par Sandrine Higel et accessible en 2011 dans le cadre du Diplôme des Hautes Etudes en Pratiques Sociales - Responsable de Projet Social - DHEPS-REPS (DU certifié de niveau II)

Coté international :

 

En juillet 2009, ce thème a été abordé au Congrés International "Multimodalité de la communication chez l'enfant - gestes, émotions, langage et cognition" organisé par l'Université de Toulouse. Des chercheurs internationaux ont présenté leurs travaux, entre autres:
